Trivia[]

  • According to John R. Dilworth, the short was conceived because an executive from Cartoon Network Asia was a fan of the series and they personally approached Dilworth to make the special. Dilworth produced the short when he was living in Barcelona, Spain at OuO Time Animation Studio with additional oversea animation provided by their sister studio Sparky Animation in Singapore.[1]
    • Dilworth also stated that also he wasn't particularly fond of producing the short in CGI alone and it was a bit of a challenge, he had no issue obliging to what the network wanted.[2]
  • Although the special was initially supposed to premiere in Cartoon Network US on Halloween 2014, it never materialized.[3]
  • For some reason, Eustace is credited as "The Farmer".
  • Wallace Shawn voices Eustace in this special, replacing Arthur Anderson. The late Lionel G. Wilson can still be heard at the end of the closing credits, as he has since 1999.
    • According to John R. Dilworth, the decision to cast Shawn for the role was because he was a fan of The Princess Bride, a movie Shawn starred in, and thought his ability to play curmudgeon characters would be perfect for playing the character. Dilworth specifically wanted Shawn to portray Eustace in his own way rather than having him imitate the late Wilson and Anderson's performances.[4][5] Dilworth also noted that if the series would've been continued or rebooted, he would've loved for Shawn to reprise the role provided if he'd be interested as well.[6]
  • This is Eustace Bagge's final antagonistic role.
  • This special's plot is similar to that of King Ramses' Curse, in which Courage also finds a valuable relic which Eustace plans to sell, and refuses to give back despite being haunted by King Ramses.
  • This is the second appearance of the CGI Courage but this time making its full appearance. The first being "Hard Drive Courage".
  • This is the last episode to feature Courage, Muriel, The Computer, and Eustace Bagge.
  • This also marks the last defeat of Eustace Bagge.

Confusions[]

Errors[]

  • Courage's mouth doesn't move when he says, "The things I do for love!" (Although it should be noted that John Dilworth stated on his facebook that he added the lines after the scene was animated, which explains the error)

Plastering notes[]

  • The original Cartoon Cartoons jingle is heard over the current Cartoon Network logo.
